STOREROOM CLERK

SUMMARY

The Storeroom Clerk manages shipping and receiving activities, maintains accurate inventory records, and pulls parts for production and customer orders. This role supports smooth daily operations through precise material handling, documentation, and communication.

STOREROOM CLERK RESPONSIBILITIES

Shipping & Receiving

· Receive incoming materials; verify quantities, part numbers, and condition.

· Process returns and discrepancies as needed.

· Prepare and ship outbound orders, including labeling and documentation.

· Coordinate pickups and ensure compliance with carrier requirements.

· Keep dock and storage areas clean, organized, and safe.

Inventory Control

· Record all inventory movements in the ERP/WMS system.

· Perform cycle counts and help with physical inventory.

· Investigate and resolve inventory variances.

· Maintain proper stock levels and identify shortages or excess.

· Store materials following required methods (FIFO, lot/serial tracking, etc.).

Order Fulfillment

· Pull and kit parts accurately for work orders and sales orders.

· Verify quantities and details before staging orders.

· Communicate shortages or substitutions promptly.

Documentation & Data Accuracy

· Ensure all shipping, receiving, and inventory documents are complete and accurate.

· Use scanners and basic tools to support traceability and correct data entry.

· Participate in process improvements and support audit activities.

Safety & Equipment

· Operate material-handling equipment safely (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).

· Follow facility safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace.

· Report equipment or safety issues immediately.

STOREROOM CLERK REQUIREMENTS

· 1-3 years of experience in warehouse, inventory, or shipping/receiving roles.

· Experience with ERP/WMS systems and handheld scanners.

· Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a warehouse environment.

PREFERRED

· Forklift certification or experience operating powered equipment.

· Knowledge of LTL/parcel shipping and creating shipping documents.

· Familiarity with cycle counting, FIFO, and inventory control methods.

· Prior experience in a manufacturing or assembly operation.
